Horst Castle is a wonderful moated castle in between the green hills of the Hageland. It is the fictional home of the Red Knight, a well known Belgian cartoon character. The castle is currently closed for restoration, but special openings will be announced.

The late Gothic Heers Castle is located in the south of Haspengouw. This monumental site is closed for restoration, but keep an eye on the agenda (Dutch) for guided tours and activities on the castle domain.
The magnificent Laarne Castle is one of the most beautiful and best preserved water castles in the country, just a stone’s throw away from Ghent. The first stone was laid over 700 years ago!
